Has anyone successfully included a personalization in a customization? We want to include grid personaliztion in a customization to roll out to everyone. We also have some heavy customization on these forms. I have applied grid personalizations to our current customization. Then in customization, I have opened the personalization list under the current customizations version. Then saved this as a new customization version. Making this new customization active, the personalization show on the grids, but we have lost all the customizations. How can I combine both?
I don’t know if you can pull in existing personalizations into an existing customization.
But if you open in customization mode, then make a change that’s a personalization and SAVE your customization, that personalization is simply part of the customization.
It sounds like in this case, you simply need to redo the personalizations as part of your customization.
For what it’s worth, here’s the steps I usually go through:
- open form in developer mode with existing customization.
- Go into customization mode, save and exit back to the form.
- Make whatever personalizations you want to make. Click SAVE LAYOUTS.
- Get back into customization mode, save the customization.
- exit.
That may be overkill. But I’ve lived through Version 8 where you had to do these types of overkill steps and I simply am in the habit.
Hope that helps.

I will give it a try. I was thinking maybe personalization type customizations need to be done first before adding custom code, etc.
