Issues with Enterprise Search in Kinetic

Is anyone having major issues with Enterprise Search in Kinetic? Our index stalls after 200 new entries when it is indexed each night. We have had 8+ cases open with Support to fix this, resulting in 2 PRBs with no end in sight. We also purchased Advanced search which has not been functioning since our go live in July.

Has anyone else using Kinetic had a similar issued with Enterprise Search and had success with a fix? Or just issues in general with Enterprise Search on this platform. It is a tool we could really benefit from, but just isn’t functioning the way it is intended.

Or has anyone using Kinetic/public cloud had luck setting up Advanced Enterprise Search? And if so, please share! Last-ditch effort to get this fixed!

Yes, same experience. Indexer’s run for 2 days and quit without error. I put a case in, they say they fixed it, then it stops indexing in another 2 days. Very frustrating…

Thanks. We can’t get a straight answer if some of the issues are specific to our database or if more customers are experiencing the same thing. But this sounds very familiar.

@daniel_a_space Are you just using Enterprise Search in base? Not Advanced, correct?

We pay for Enterprise Search Premium, which is likely the same as Advanced?

Yes, I believe it is the same. Have you been successful in loading any custom BAQs? At this point, we are going to disable Premium/Advanced until we can get base working.

I haven’t ever gotten to that point. I’m just trying to get the standard queries to index.

I wanted to update you - we have a PRB attached to our case now - PRB0273198. It’s an issue with the incremental index. Ask support to change it to full build (nightly) until 2024.1 comes out with the fix.

Hi Chris - we have the same PRB attached and I saw the update this morning. Glad to see some movement. We are also working with Scott Balmer in support who has been amazing. I’ll keep you posted if we are able to add some custom BAQs. Fingers crossed we’ll get somewhere!

I just had a very productive call with Support, Dev and Cloud (after many months of trying to get the right people on a call!). They are logging two more PRBs and one feature request regarding Advanced Ent Search. It sounded like they’d push these through for 2024.1. I’ll share the PBRs once they are logged. Making progress!

Interesting…when I search the Problem Repository, neither of those come up.

Tis a lil off topic, but what do you guys use enterprise search for? It just annoys me by being automatically selected when I want to do a menu search and that is about it.

I find it’s easier to find specific order/PO/part information than opening the relevant app and searching in there.

We purchased advanced enterprise search so we can customize the BAQs used for ES. Ideally we would like to search for some of our custom UD fields and ES would help us do this more quickly.
