Not able to add Part with expired warranty to Service Call Center

Does anyone use Service Call Center and Warranty codes on parts/part class?

It seems through testing that I am not able to add a part to service call center when I reference the pack id/line if the part shipped where warranty has expired.

We have occasions where we repair parts outside of warranty for a billable charge, and it seems that I should still be able to add the pack/line reference when I add the line to the service call so Service Call Center can show the repair tech if the part is has warranty or not.

It doesn’t matter if the part is serialized or not, if warranty dates have passed - the pack/line cannot be referenced. If the part still has warranty left the boxes for covered material/labor/mis cost is checked, and it makes sense to me if the part was out of warranty they would not be. Unless I am missing something.
