Open Edge v10.1 Progress 64 Bit Comments/Feedback

We are using Vantage 803.405 on a 64 bit Windows Server 2003 platform.
Everything seems to be working much faster than the 32 bit 803.305. We use
FRX here and we had to install FRX on a 32 bit server and make several
configuration changes to get it to connect to the 64 bit server.

Subject: [Vantage] Open Edge v10.1 Progress 64 Bit Comments/Feedback

I just finished an migration to a 64bit Open Edge Server System. My
O/S is in the flavor of Debian (Linux), As I attempted to install my
Windows-Admin Box I discovered that a 64 Bit version of Open Edge does
not exist for any windows platform. I went onto Progress's website and
queried there knowledge base about this topic and discovered the
following post which I have copied below.

I have noticed an appreciable performance gain and my users have
commented the same (I was encouraged to hear). The next phase of
performance increase now is to add memory 4Gb to 12Gb to the server to
see if this will show any additional performance gains.

I also noticed that just recently that Mfg-S/W was being released by
Epicor for a 64Bit system as well "SP803405-P64". I may have missed
earlier versions not sure. I am interested in hearing comments of
anyone else that may have migrated from a 32Bit to 64Bit Server Platform.

Title: "Is Progress OpenEdge certified for Windows platforms with
64-bit processor?"

Currently, there is no 64-Bit version of Progress OpenEdge for the
Windows 64-Bit platforms. However, Progress supports its 32 Bit
version of OpenEdge Release 10 with Microsoft Windows 64 Bit Intel
Platforms, but it has not been optimized for 64-Bit hardware.
There is no confirmed schedule for when the Progress OpenEdge 64-Bit
version will be available for the Windows 64-Bit Operating Systems.
