Passing a parameter from context menu to dashboard with BAQ

I would like to be able to open a dashboard from a context menu, and then fill out the parameter from the BAQ shown in the screenshot below.

I am able to open the dashboard from the context menu with no issue, and I can fill in this parameter manually and get the desired results. What I’m wondering is if there is any way I can fill out the parameter to filter the query without the need for user input.

Also, the query is updatable if that has any affect on how to pass the parameter.

Dashboard and BAQ parameter from "Open With ..."

I think if you set your field properties on the calculated field to be like Part.Partnum, you should be able to set a filter on the BAQ as a primary browse. Then when you do the open with, it will populate that part number. I’d have to play with it to see if I could get it to work. [image] [image] [image] There might be more setup to get it to work. I end up making those with a little too much trial and error, and I’m not always sure what ends up working why, I just quit when it does.

[image] [image] [image] This only works with the filter on the query (not filtering on the grid property) and only on some fields. Usually the primary ones like part etc. If it works, at the bottom of the list will be dashboard browse, otherwise you’re mostly out of luck.

I actually got that working partially. It’s an updatable BAQ that’s on the dashboard, so when I go to refresh it loads in the entire query like there is not filter on it at all. This would be problematic as I can for-see user’s wanting to refresh to make sure their changes took effect. Any tips on getting the filter to “stick”?
