RE: Call Number 583663MPS Technical Support Reply: J

I would suggest having a filter to select only unreleased and un-engineered
jobs. This way jobs that are in progress would not be affected, or would
have to be changed manually. All the rest would be changed to reflect the
latest BOM.

This would be an interesting program to write.
If all that changed were WC's, rates, comments it could replace the
operations with no labor reported or subcontractor transactions or BOM with
no transactions. What if an operation gets added and the route resequenced?
How does the program know what to do?

You can't delete a job if there are transactions against them. Some of our
purchase parts have a 6 month lead time, and are tied to the job. So I can't
delete the job and pull new details. But I certainly need to update new
standards, and adjust capacity as needed.

The MRP module will do this for you on jobs that are unfirm.
(Remove the old job and create a new one with the latest rev.)
This is perfect for work center, work center rate changes, any updates to
part routings.

Please reference call # 583663MPS if you have any additional questions on
this issue.
Incident Number:583663
Type of Shop: Assembly & Fabrication
Suggested Enhancement: (Please be as specific as possible.)
To have some sort of capability to mass update jobs, either open,
engineered, or released, based on a new requirement from an Engingeering
Change.

Customer wants the ability to make "Global Changes" to jobs.

Purpose (Example of the business problem the enhancement would solve): We
have hundreds of different jobs open, extending out for over 12 months.
Most have pending PO's covering long lead-time items. When a new
Engineering Change comes through, we have to individually update these
jobs. I would like a way to update all jobs associated with the Engineering
Change .
A filter of only unreleased or even, unengineered jobs would be acceptable,
so all jobs that are released would not be affected. Wee make changes to
the amount of machines in a work center, updating time standard, etc., quite
frequently. Updating jobs individually is very time consuming.

Could someone explain to me how I go about letting Vantage know I support
this change, too?
