Subject: RE: [Vantage] Running out of Space
I ran into this with my Vantage system a while back. I took the opportunity
to install a fresh drive with a fresh OS and a fresh copy of
Vantage/Progress. Granted, I also took the chance to upgrade from the
version 3.0 we were on to 5.0 (can't skip 4.0 though) on a separate machine.
While installing I chose to sit the database on a separate drive (to
overcome the 4 gig limit of NT 4.0 boot) and restored the database to the
new drive. This process took me from a 4 gig partition with the Database,
Vantage, Progress and NT on the same drive to the OS on a 4 gig and the
database on an IDE raid 10 with 4 20 gig ATA 100 drives. In short, if I was
going to have to move the database I was going to do everything I could at
the same time. All told it cost me >$700 and a weekend of upgrading.
Just a thought to consider if you are thinking about moving your database.

I am running out of space on the C: drive of my Vantage server. I
have moved as much as I can around. Question: Can I move the
database to a different drive and leave the rest of Vantage on C? Or
what other suggestions might there be to free up space?
