Send Record as Email Error

I think i have missed a step or something. I have set up my SMTP server in my config file. I can email from Epicor but when I select (FOR EXAMPLE a DMR) file > Send > Record by Email it emails fine but when I get it there isn’t a link just a sysconfig file. and in the body it says shortcut. It is acting like it couldn’t attach the record.

You have to register sysconfig files to open with Epicor.exe in your windows file association,.

What is an easy way to get this registered to ALL users. We use this a lot.

Probably Group Policy push @EarlGrei ideas?

Ok getting out of my area. Do any of the technical guides help with this process?

No

UGH…figures…LOL

If anyone else has an east way please chime in. I have about 200 users that I will have to apply this on.

and @EarlGrei I just talked to my network guy and I forgot he had set something up for Epicor 9 but could never get it to work consistently. He had a script that referenced registry keys. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

@josecgomez is correct (dont tell him I said that), GPO is the way to go.
Under Windows 7 you used to be able to do these piecemeal as default apps were machine level. Under Windows 10 they are user-level now. I reviewed the article I attached below and your IT person should be able to pretty easily adapt it from the example of Acrobat. Basically your IT person will set the default for SYSCONFIG to Epicor on their workstation then export the file, trim it down to just be the SYSCONFIG line and then deploy via GPO.
