@timshuwy sometimes it seems like ideas go from submitted to gauging interest within a day or 2. Other times it seems like they just get lost? These were all submitted 3 weeks - 2 months ago. Is there a timeframe when they will get updated?
Looking at all the ideas out there, it seems some have been on a submitted status for up to 3 years? Are some ideas just never reviewed?
@aosemwengie1 Agree that there are many ideas that are still in the “Submitted” status, but that is due to the fact that initially, we didn’t have a process in place to change the status from Submitted to Gauging Interest, so there are many old ideas that were reviewed, but the status was not changed.
Our CURRENT “new” process (as of this past year) is to regularly review the new ideas:
- Daily: several of us personally review at incoming ideas, and as appropriate we will change the status without deeper consulting with the team.
- Weekly: we have a team made up of Product Management, Professional Services, and Tech Support that spends 90 minutes reviewing the incoming ideas that are “submitted”… we do this based off of an “Idea report” that is sorted first by Vote Count, and then by Age. Logic behind this is that if there is a new idea with lots of votes, we want to address it as soon as possible. There have been a few that we escalated within days/weeks and even got the idea into the next release.
- Regularly: we review open ideas, merge them as we see appropriate, etc.
So… there are some ideas that are still old, and we will eventually get to them, but catching up on the 100s of ideas takes time. You can still vote on them, and the status change doesn’t affect the votes.
