Just curious, for those selling optional warranties with their products; how do you handle these in Epicor? As we refine our business processes here i just want to take in various perspectives and approaches.

With one client the product came with a warranty but they offered an ‘extended warranty’
We used Service Contracts for that. The contract could be added to the original sales order or on a separate sales order later. The contract would be dated to start AFTER the original warranty was to expire. Plus Service Contracts provide more coverage options and flexibility.
Took some time to figure out all the pieces.
Worked pretty well.
This was for serial tracked parts so it worked really well.
