Add Image to APM Email

I tried searching the forum and could not find anything. What is the best way to add an image to an HTML email? I get that it is <img src=XXXX> to add it to the email, but where is it located? Should I add it as an image in Epicor? Should I store it on the server? App or DB server? If it is on a server, do I need full path or does Epicor know which server to look on? Just trying to figure out what is the best way to accomplish this.
